No sir, “The Killer” Kovalev will not disappoint you this Saturday night, as he will have a field day laying into Cleverly for 12 rounds straight if he so chooses to run, but if “The Clev” wants to bang it out with Kovalev and go toe-to-toe with him, it will be quick and merciful. Either way, whether he runs from or stands up to Sergey, his chin will not withstand the beating Kovalev will dish out that night, his punches are just too lethal, literally, he’s killed a guy, google it. But me, being the nice guy that I am, am willing to give Cleverly a good two and a half rounds before he hits the canvas. And yet, still people want to say Cleverly is the favorite because the fight will be held at his hometown in Wales, but I see this as a disadvantage because if he couldn’t even find the grapefruits to take his biggest championship bout to the States and make a name for himself, I don’t see anyone backing him for his future fights.
But who is Nathan Cleverly really? He is an unproven and untested light heavyweight champ that has never fought outside the UK and has a resume that is mediocre at best. He usually fights on the outside capitalizing on his reach advantage but more often than not likes to mix it up on the inside. But honestly, it really doesn’t matter who he’s in the ring with that night, Kovalev is just too hungry. If you want my opinion, do yourself a favor go to Bovada (Referral Code: P1E805A6) and put all your money on Sergey Kovalev, line is currently at -130, because HBO will be heavily invested in him as well.
Prediction: Kovalev in 3
